Cast - Darunia Virgil Pyralis

The last surviving heir to the power of the Fire Sage for the Goron tribe, Darunia is a somewhat clueless man with a thick accent from who knows where. However, his simple nature allows him to draw the easiest conclusions for the seemingly most complex problems. In battle, he wields great strength with the Megaton Hammer, although he's a tad slow. His patron element is Fire.

Events

Darunia's first appearance is in Level 03, becomes a Sage in Level 21, and attains the Fire Medallion in Level 24. Darunia's father Garon was the Fire Sage until he died, so Darunia joined the party in his father's stead. Darunia's mother, Celerity, appears during their second visit to Death Mountain.

When Ruto moved to Death Mountain a few years ago to study under Biggoron, Darunia met her and they had something of a relationship. They exchanged gifts; Darunia gave Ruto his red and white bracelets, and Ruto gave him a silver necklace she made. However, Darunia also met Reina at Snowhead; Reina, out of jealousy, attacked Ruto and stole the bracelets that Darunia gave her. It's later revealed that Reina stole the egg that was made between Darunia and Ruto.

Ruto then left Darunia and went to Lake Hylia. Darunia never saw Ruto or Reina again until many years later.

Personality

Darunia's a clueless wonder. Or is he? He more or less does stupid things because he doens't know any better, it seems like, but then again he could very well be knowing full well what his actions entail. Only time will tell what's going on in that seemingly empty head.

In all actuality, Darunia's cluelessness is all just an act; he doesn't want to be the same person he was years ago, when troubles began, and he didn't want to be the same person his father was. However, meeting and getting to know Saria made him open up again, and his clueless facade began to fade away. As the series progresses, Darunia reveals himself to be probably the most serious out of all the characters.

Author's Notes

Darunia, I noticed after reading through the series again, is hit repeatedly on the head again and again without any mercy, and displays a complete and total lack of intelligence. But that will end soon enough. However, I found out that this is because I based Darunia off of the clueless friends I have, but the thing is that my clueless and stupid friends run way deeper than they seem. So as the story develops, you too will see that stupidity is only skin-deep. Hopefully.

Akai Hirai - Darunia swings the Megaton Hammer and the vacuum creates a blade of fire that attacks an enemy line.

Tokijin - Darunia encases himself in fire for a short amount of time. Increases defense and offense, but slows him down a bit.

Suzakuno Tsubasa - The highest level of ability for the Fire Sage. Darunia encases a corpse in the flames of a phoenix and revived them as a guardian spirit. This can only work once, to revive only one person.

In battle, Darunia displays a lot of physical strength. However, he's also slow, and rarely uses magical abilities. Later in the series, he gains vast control over his flame abilities and uses them to their full potential.
