Cast - Tori Yaiba Lai

A young Gerudo ninja who first is an enemy, but soon switches sides for unknown reasons. Tori is very knowledgable about things pertaining to certain situations that even Ruto is unaware of, and also is very quick in combat and knows a good variety of abilities that include healing, defense, and attack. This ninja's innate element is Earth.

Events

Tori first appears in Level 05, and she's already attained her Sage status and Medallion.

In her past, Tori was born the identical twin sister of the only male Gerudo of the century, Lucent Li Lai. However, when Lady Powder came to collect a male Gerudo, she was sent in his place, and posed as a man. She met Rei at Chateau Skulltula, and escaped back to Hyrule with him.

Personality

Tori is still habitually posing as a man, so she comes off as a man throughout the series. Her excuse for this is that she's used to it, and she gets more respect that way. However, Tori does have a sensitive and feminine side, but she reserves it for her one-sided love, Rei. She is fiercely protective of Rei and will do almost anything for him. She is also protective of her brother, Lucent, and comes across as very brash. She's very set in her ways and doesn't accept criticism. However, Tori has a desire to become strong and valiant, to help those close to her as well.

Despite all that, though, she's still able to have some girl-to-girl talk with Zelda.

Author's Notes

Originally, Tori and Lucent were the same person. However, there were very different things I wished to communicate between each character, so I ended up splitting them into two and making them separate. I'm pleased with the results. Sometimes Tori represents my own frustrations with trying to come to terms with one's gender, although I'm not such an extreme case. The image of Tori comes from a strong person, who wishes to become stronger in order to escape from reality.

Abilities:

Chikyuuno Kokoro - Tori's healing ability, which is also able to heal sicknesses and sprains and suchlike. However, it's a little less effective than Ruto's Awai Mizu for healing actual lacerations.

Hitokageno Dou - Tori unleashes a cage around one or many people, thus restraining them. However, if the barrier is broken, it also injures Tori.

Chigino Chuppara - Tori alters the battlefield as huge slabs of earth jut out of the ground, and make it easier for her to be more mobile.

Tori is quick and agile, although she lacks hard punch. However, she's quick and agile, and possesses a variety of abilities.
