Events
Zelda's first appearance is in Level 01, is revealed that she's a Sage in the same level, and attains her Medallion of Light in Level 24. Zelda was sleeping inside of the Forbidden City since the Legendary Battle a thousand years ago in order to awaken when the Triforce was being threatened. She possesses enormous magical power, but most of it was drained away when Ganondorf encountered her. Throughout the series she gets stronger and stronger, as Ruto has undone the seal, but it's a slow process.
During the events in Woodfall, Zelda gets a haircut and during the events in Snowhead, she is replaced by Sheik.
Personality
Zelda's first impression is simply someone naive, aloof and clueless, but later her complete and total absence of any social understanding or what is deemed as a soul becomes apparant. Zelda spurns Link's advances. However, while in towns and the group splits up, she usually accompanies Tori, and the two form a close bond where Zelda begins to explore her own emotions.
Author's Notes
I have no idea what was going on through my head when I created this character. However, what became apparent soon after I created her was that I didn't want a stereotypical lovey-dovey romance between Link and Zelda, so I decided to make Link have to work for his relationship with Zelda, which she keeps on shooting down. Also, I've always wanted to try to develop a character over a semi-long series, and Zelda was the perfect candidate of doing that from scratch.
There was a lot I wanted to convey through her character, but I think I didn't reach her potential; she comes off as another damsel-in-distress.
Battle Statistics
Class: Mage
Weapon: Stave - used for channeling magical abilities, although not required and often not used.
Element: Light
Abilities:
In battle, Zelda is more or less physically useless and shouldn't be directly involved in combat. Instead, she gives support from the back ranks casting magical spells. She also knows what she is doing, as she possesses massive knowledge of her craft and is always continually growing stronger.
